Make of me a shining lamp and a brilliant star....
I need* a telescope. I have always wanted one. I have always loved the stars. There is serenity there, and I have ignored it for what I thought were practical reasons.

No more. I have a savings account and I'm going to use it. In the meantime, if there's anyone out there that has suggestions on places to look for such things at good prices, I'd love to hear them. Especially catalogs. I love printed catalogs. First thing I'll need to do, though, is spend a few hours researching. And find some reading. There's even an astronomical society that meets within walking distance of here which I even have friends wanting to attend with me. I am so excited.

* I'm using 'need' here very loosely. My life won't end without this item. But it has gone on long enough without it.
